  • On June 1, 2026 at 8:15 PM Estrada was committed to the New Quezon City Jail Annex in Payatas after surrendering to PNP-CIDG operatives in the late afternoon. He waived Senate custody and his Senate salary for the duration of his detention. Three former Bulacan DPWH district engineers were committed with him to the general population block.
  • On June 1, 2026 the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division issued an arrest warrant against Estrada and former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan on the P573 million plunder information. Plunder under Republic Act 7080 is non-bailable when the evidence of guilt is strong. The court acted the same day Estrada filed an Urgent Omnibus Motion Ad Cautelam seeking deferment of the warrant and quashal of the information.
  • On May 29, 2026 the Sandiganbayan Second Division issued an arrest warrant and hold-departure order against Estrada and Bonoan on the two graft counts; both posted the P90,000 bond required for each count later the same day.
  • On May 28, 2026 the Office of the Ombudsman filed plunder under Republic Act 7080, graft under sections 3(b) and 3(e) of Republic Act 3019, and bribery against Estrada and former DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan at the Sandiganbayan over the flood control kickback scheme. The case was raffled to the Sandiganbayan Fifth Division for the plunder count and the Second Division for the graft counts.
  • On May 18, 2026 the Department of Justice transmitted a preliminary investigation resolution to the Office of the Ombudsman recommending plunder under Republic Act 7080, graft under sections 3(b) and 3(e) of Republic Act 3019, direct bribery under Article 210 of the Revised Penal Code, corruption of public officials under Article 212, and receiving gifts by public officers in connection with the flood control kickback scheme.
  • Bulacan 1st District Engineer Henry Alcantara and former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo identified Estrada in sworn testimony as among the elected officials receiving a percentage cut from district allocations, including a referenced ₱355 million Bulacan 1st district allocation.
